Chef Mario Batali is found NOT GUILTY of sexually assaulting female fan at Boston bar while posing for a selfie in 2017: Judge says accuser had 'significant credibility issues'

Batali, 61, was acquitted on Tuesday of sexually assaulting a woman at a Boston bar in 2017 while posing with her for a selfie. The 32-year-old Massachusetts resident was one of a handful of women who accused Batali of sexual harassment and misconduct amid the #MeToo movement, which exposed widespread patterns of abuse of women in multiple spheres of American life. Batali displayed no visible reaction as the verdict was announced and left the courtroom surrounded by reporters without making a comment. If convicted, Batali could have faced up to 2-1/2 years in jail and registration as a sex offender. In the non-jury trial, Judge James Stanton of Boston Municipal Court found Batali, 61, not guilty of a charge of indecent assault and battery brought in 2019, saying the accuser had 'significant credibility issues.' The trial was the only criminal case brought against Batali, once a fixture of the popular Food Network and a star of the ABC cooking and talk show 'The Chew,' from among multiple #MeToo-era accusations made by women against the celebrity chef. In the trial, accuser Natali Tene, 32, testified on Monday that Batali forcibly groped her breasts, buttocks and crotch area before inviting her back to his hotel room while drunkenly posing for selfies with her at a bar near Boston's Eataly, the Italian market and restaurant he at the time part owned.

She is charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Officials Monday also revealed Nguyen had left another signed, handwritten note inside the family home dated April 25 - seven days before the murder - stating what to do with her sons remains. The letter also instructed its recipient what to do with her own remains as well, confirming cops' previous suspicions that the mom had planned to take her own life once the deed was done. Nguyen then provided the address of the family home, in affluent Upper Makefield, where she would eventually commit the inexplicable crime - which cops say may have stemmed from a disagreement concerning back rent Nguyen owed to the family of her ex-husband (pictured in bottom left photo), who owns the house.
